Step 2: Finding your Model Number and Year of Tractor

Now that you have your sticker, match it with an image below and extract the information as shown in the examples.

  1. Countax Tractors made from 1994 - 2010
The date of the tractor is the first 5 digits read backwards.
    i.e. 90609 = 09/06/09

    Year of Manufacture: 2009
  2. Countax Tractors from 2010 - present day (on some tractors)
Some stickers will show the date of manufacture (D.O.M) in the top left of the label.
    i.e. 10/02/12

    Year of Manufacture: 2012
  3. Countax Tractors from 2012 - present day (on some tractors)
As above, if the date of manufature is not shown, then the date of the tractor is the first 5 digits read backwards.
    i.e. 20216 = 16/02/12

    Year of Manufacture: 2012
Please note: Machines built from 1994 - 2000 were fitted with Briggs and Stratton Engines. Machines after 2001 were fitted with Kawasaki or Honda engines. This will help you identify your machine, as some years on the label will look the same.

Finding the Year from your Briggs and Stratton Engine

If you're still having trouble identifying the year of your tractor, it can also be found from the engine. This is provided the tractor is fitted with a Briggs and Stratton Engine and it is the original engine.

On your engine look for the numbers as in the images below, they are likely to be located in the following places. Please note that if the numbers are not visible then we would recommend using a wire brush or scratcher and a torch to help uncover them.
